From Esenboga Airpot  to the city center:

Participants arriving to Ankara Esenboğa Airpot can take the “Airport Shuttle” –BELKO  bus, line 442, ticket price is 10 Turkish Liras (3.5 USD).  The bus starts in front of the airport’s exit door and goes to ASTI (otogar) and Kizilay (downtown).

Taxi cabs are also available, approximate price is about 100 Turkish liras (33 USD).

How to reach Atılım University?

During the conference there will be a free service bus from DAFNE hotel to Atılım University every morning and back every evening.

Those participants who come to AŞTİ from the airport, may go to DAFNE Hotel by taxi. Approximate price is 15 Turkish liras (about 5 usd). Please be careful to use only official taxi cabs who have labels “ASTI taksi” at the front window and start from the official taxi stand. Do not accept offers from other drivers.

Bank Services: In general, Banks in Ankara are open during 9:00 - 17:00 from Monday to Friday. International cards “visa” and “mastercard” can be used in big shopping centers, many hotels and restaurants. You may also use them to withdraw money from ATM machines, although the comission fee in all these cases is rather high. Be aware that bank cheques are not commonly accepted in Turkey.

Currency: Turkish currency is Turkish Lira. You can easily exchange US dollars and Euro into Turkish liras either in banks or in exchange offices (“döviz”).

Shopping: Almost all of the shopping centers are open every day during 10:00 - 21:00.



Language: An official language in Turkey is Turkish. The Turkish language comes from Central Asian Languages Family and is very different from the European languages. The Turkish alphabet is based on the latin alphabet. Nowadays, many people in Ankara, especially young ones speak English.


Additional Information:

Drinking Water: Although it is safe to drink tap water, it is recommended to buy bottled drink water which can be found almost everywhere at stores. You can safely brush your teeth with tap water.

Electricity: The electricity supply is 220 V, 50 Hz, with the type of sockets which are standard in most European countries.
